Simple yet beautiful and delicious, this Christmas Morning Quiche is a wonderful quick meal to make so you can enjoy every moment of precious family time.

This quiche has been a part of our Christmas mornings for several years now and continues to be a favorite!
Christmas morning is always such a joyful and slightly chaotic time, and I never want to miss a moment. However, no matter the occasion, there are always going to be hungry little ones eagerly awaiting breakfast. On these kinds of mornings, it helps immensely to have simple meals prepped beforehand that can be served in no time.
The idea for this recipe came about when, one year, my grandmother recruited me to help make an egg bake on Christmas Eve which was then chilled overnight and popped into the oven on Christmas morning. I loved the simplicity of the delicious meal and created my own version of the dish. While it technically would be considered a frittata, our family has always referred to this as a quiche, so for tradition’s sake the name remains the same. The meal is such a hit with the family that it has remained a regular part of Christmas mornings on Humble Farm!
I call this Christmas Morning Quiche simply because of our family tradition. However, it can just as easily be enjoyed any other time of year. Easter Morning Quiche, anyone? There are no flavors in this dish that are exclusive to Christmas. Having a simple and nourishing breakfast can be a blessing no matter the season!

Christmas Morning Quiche Variations
In this recipe I feature the delightful flavors of sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and feta cheese. However, depending on your family’s preferences feel free to customize this quiche however you like! I am very much a “dump and pour” kind of cook, so I am in full support of being adventurous and creative in the kitchen! You could add shredded chicken, sauteed onions, cherry tomatoes, or anything else your heart desires.
Trim Healthy Mama S
This is a Trim Healthy Mama S recipe which means it is low glycemic, full of healthy fats, and low in carbohydrates. If you are making this as a meal for growing children or those who wish to maintain their weight you will want to make the meal into a “crossover” (XO). This simply means to add plenty of healthy carbs to your meal in addition to the lovely fats. A great way to do this is to serve a whole grain sourdough bread with the quiche. One fun bread to serve on Christmas is my Cinnamon Orange Sourdough Star Bread which you can find here.
A Make Ahead Meal
Every Christmas Eve I quickly mix this quiche together to be baked in the morning. To do this, grease your baking dishes (I use two pie plates.) very well with coconut oil. Make the quiche according to the recipe but instead of baking immediately cover the dishes with plastic wrap and chill them in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning, preheat your oven and remove the plastic wrap from the dishes of unbaked quiche. While you are waiting for the oven to preheat enjoy a few more precious moments with family. Bake the quiche according to the instructions and serve with a beautiful smile!
