This Essential Oil Scented DIY Liquid Hand Soap is all natural, simple to make, and smells oh so fresh!
For many, replacing your family’s liquid soaps with a natural option seems unrealistic. Those soaps at the grocery store labeled “all natural” are far too expensive and aren’t very affordable. Unfortunately, most of these options are not as pure as they claim and contain artificial fragrances. Many homemade options are too time consuming to make on a regular basis especially for households with many small children who need to wash their hands quite frequently.
When I decided to switch to making our family’s liquid soap, I knew it needed to be simple. It needed to be mixed up in two minutes or less. Of course, it also had to be truly pure and smell amazing.
I mixed up a batch of this soap with unscented pure Castile soap and the essential oils we had on hand. We’ve been using it ever since!

For this recipe you will need:
Step 1: Pour 1/4 cup unscented liquid pure Castile soap to a hand soap pump. I use Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Pure Castile Soap which we purchase by the gallon through Azure Standard. You can use a foaming soap pump if you prefer a foamy hand soap!
Step 2: Add ten drops of your favorite essential oil blend to the soap dispenser. I love to use lemon and lavender essential oils, especially in the spring! I use 5 drops of lemon oil and 5 drops of lavender oil.
Step 3: Screw the pump onto the dispenser tightly and give the dispenser a good little shake to mix everything together.
That’s it! See how simple that was? I love the way this soap lathers. It is so smooth!
Creamsicle: 5 drops orange & 5 drops vanilla essential oils
Summertime: 5 drops lime & 5 drops lavender essential oils
Holiday Spice: 4 drops orange, 3 drops spruce, and 3 drops cinnamon essential oils
Spring Garden: 3 drops jasmine, 3 drops rosemary, and 3 drops cedarwood essential oils
Autumn: 4 drops orange, 3 drops cinnamon, and 3 drops clove essential oils

A letter from the farm
I write a quiet letter to my readers — a recipe, a reflection, something I've been learning or noticing. No noise. No rush. Just a note from my kitchen to yours, whenever I have something worth saying.
